Things have been somewhat quiet around here. Glenmere Lake dead the last two outings. Had off work Monday, drove to Greenwood Lake, the ice looked scary. Stayed off. Going to try Round or Walton this weekend. Hit a private lake in Newburgh last Sunday for a load of nice picks and perch.
Ice boy , where you been fishing?
Cossack, was in your neck of the wood a few months ago. Took the kids and scouts to the wolf conservation center in your town. Nice job those folks are doing to save the wolves. Been there?

Slow, Slow, Slow.....that's been the word from everyone here in Southern NY this season. Anybody want to venture a guess as to what's the reason for this?? Doesn't seem to be confined to any particular area or lake ---just slow all over.
We're going up to Sullivan County this weekend to fish the King of the Ice contest on White Lake. How about some of you other "Southerners" joining us up there? I'm easy to spot...... Navy Blue snowmobile suit with "ICEBALLS" on the back!!! Hop on over ---the grill will be going with burgers, 'dogs, 'brats on all day! BYOB (bring your own Beer!!)

When is that tourney and what town is White Lake in? I might be interested in that.
Fishing has been slow for me as well.

I agree been to 6 different lakes and all have been very slow. Don't know what's up think it's anything to do with the late ice? Will be at "King of the Ice" also. A bunch of us will be on the north side past "Vasmer's" off West shore Rd. stop by there be plenty of food.

i will be at king of the ice as well me and my father. have two clam shelters. come over and say hi. my fathers shy so just talk to me!! will most likely be wearing camo bibs with red or a green jacket. we will most liekly be off of 17b. good action there last year. place 2nd in perch/crappie section with 13 1/4 in perch.
for local fishing ive been fishing mostly blue lake in sterling. tried askoti got skunked. its either hit or miss down here. i could be catching gills all day around 9-10 " then the next day not catch a single fish.
cave dave the tournaments on white lake in monticello of off 17B cant miss it.
flounder drove by walton about two weeks ago after fishing a lake in sterling almost all open water !!! how's she doing now

Don't know about Walton. i'll find out this weekend. Lots of springs in that lake!
Where the heck is Blue Lake, Tuxedo?
Anyone, tell me more about the king of the ice tourney? Where is home base sign ups, weigh-in, etc. Never fished it. Tons of folks I here? Just might try it Sunday. How is the access to the lake? Can anyone recommend some parking areas?

blue lake has been mainly small perch and some gills and big pickeral. i would try the middle for decent bass/pickeral. you should be chasing flags if you go. yes flounder blue lake is near tuxedo not quite there though heres a link for ya for other ponds and lakes in that area

CAVE DAVE & FLOUNDERMAN: King of the Ice registration is at the State Boat launch, off Rt. 55 at White Lake. Take Rt. 17B to the Light by the Clock Tower. Turn down Rt. 55 about 1/2 mile then turn left into parking lot by the boat launch.
The contest is SUNDAY Feb. 18, but you can also register on Saturday if you're in the area at SPORTS NUTS on Rock Hill Dr., in Rock Hill, NY
(845) 794-2000 Registration is $12 up to Sat. 2/17 or $15 at the Boat Launch day of contest. Bait will be available at the boat launch.
I think I'll be fishing off Rt.17B behind the bar, or possibly off West Shore Rd
Let's see if we can all meet up to say Hello, eat each other's food and catch some fish!!!
