Do aqua-vu lights spook fish?
« on: Feb 03, 2007, 10:07 PM »
I'm starting to become convinced that burbot don't bite when my aqua-vu lights are on...I can only seem to catch them when the lights are off, and because they bite mainly at night i have never witnessed on taking the bait... has anybody else been more fortunate than I have to witness a burbot take their bait when their aqua-vu lights have been on?

The infrared LEDs do not because they are invisible. The spectral responce LEDs are visible too fish and I have heard that they will spook fish. Especially Blue Gills.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

I'm not really sure about the Aqua View..but 2 years ago I went to Al and Bobs Sports and rented one...I caught my limit of gills using this unit. I'd watch the fish suck in the tear drop without even moving my very sensitive spring bobber and when they did it, I'd pull straight up and I'd have em.

I always thought the sonar from my Lowrance Fish Finder would spook fish, but with todays technologies I know for a Fact using my Vexilar Pro: I can see fish come right to my bait and then I focus on my spring bobber..I'll have em shortly...So, the sonars don't bother them now..

I also use the Auto Lock system I have and can get a fish that's 1/2 inch off bottom to come up and take my bait.

Happy fishin..

Stan
