Buckeye Lake - Any news on it yet ? It normaly freezes quick ??

Hey, Any you guys out there close to Buckeye lake that can shoot out a report ? Man I like that lake to ice fish, Real good Saugeye / Perch / Crappie lake and only runs about 12' deep in the winter.

got a 3 day w/e. may check it out. got my gear all over the living room ready to go in the truck. wife says if i don't get my gear out of her way she's gonna throw me in the truck. anyone going friday? got everything, just need directions to get there and a guide to good ice.

Pretty good ice out there now.  A good 4" of clear ice around Fairfield Beach.  I did find one spot where the ice was funky--as in 3" of white ice.  There were some guys about halfway between the island and the Marsh.  Harbor Hills has lots of open water spots right where we need to get on the ice!

Saturday found about 4-5" of ice with some further out between island and Marsh around 3"...Caught a few dinks and saw quite  a few nice eyes hit the ice. Got to admit, I thought it was going to be a great trip until about 2pm when Mr. Windy came along with 30-40 mph gusts. I could ony watch as fellow icefishermans equipment went flying down the west end of the lake, buckets, tubs, gloves hats, not a pretty sight. Getting the shanty down and trekking back to land was a delight, walk five feet , slide back two feet and I was wearing cleats. More wind predicted today...so, stayin' on land today...Riverbottoms, from now on I will listen to you when you say its gonna get gusty...
