Iced fished the Lake George today

Well finally got some ice on the million dollar beach area and lots of fisherman out taday there.  You could only go out about  yards and yesterday there was open water there, but today that area had ice on it.  So hopefully by next weekend most of the lake will be ice fishable.. Caught 2 lakers both 22" could not keeep em, but also had 3  other flags witch probably where lakers.  Many guys jigging for perch and pulling them out with a few landlocks.  Not a bad first day on Lake George but very cold good luck all. I heard there were shanties out there already. Were they perms or porti's.

portables, i fished there today and it was pretty slow ,  nobody seemed to be getting anything, went out about fifty yards past the farthest portable and took 3 turns of the auger to punch through, ice wasnt too bad closer in but i think ill wait a week or two till she locks up good

Fished Brant on sat , two trucks driving around and a small car , NUTS ! I only had 5to6" of ice around me , and they were farther out yet . Drove by Lake George and was surprised by amount of guys fishing . Im waiting till this weekend and playing it safe .
