For me, late afternoon right around sundown is always the best for walleyes. I seem to be able to pick up panfish throughout the day but it depends upon the lake.

On the Sacandaga the best times are when we eat. Early morning, noon and at dusk..around 4-5:00 p.m. Hope this helps..

I seem to do best in the late afternoon to evening, especially under high pressure (post-front) conditions.  It's almost like clockwork--if there's any bite at all, I can count on the sunset bite.  I also like the after dark hours for crappie and especially saugeye, sometimes the best fishing of all.

i like to have all my tip-ups in just as the sun is coming up, then i crack a beer and wait, if i haven't  had a flag in 30 minutes i try to coax them out by  having a nice big swig of jim beam ;) sometimes it works sometimes it requires a few more shots. eventually i catch something, even if its just a buzz. lol ;D

5 a.m. till 10 a.m. gets my vote. The exception is pike fishing. For them, the first good dose of sunshine around 10 to 11 a.m. gets the bite on.
I wish I was in heaven sittin down..........on a 5 gallon pail!
