I am beginning to realize that it is not going to happen this year. Maybe the Stripers will make there run back up hear earlier

high predidted on sunday for springfield area is 44, dropping everyday after that.
according to this site the warm weather will break this sunday, and we will finally have those 20 degree days we've all ben dreaming of.

All i can say is holy crap I see contradicting weather reports for Sunday.

Yeah, I heard on NECN that after this weekend, were finally going to get some arctic air in. .hopefully we ll get a quick freeze in a weeek and I can salvage whats left of my winter break!!!!!..

I want to remind you guys about last years icefishing season. We had ice here in central mass in the second week of december, and at the end of january there was the lions club fishing derby on quaboug and there was 6-8 inches of ice and less than a week later 3/4 of the lake was wide open and a week and a half after that it refroze and i fished out there until the begining of march, and then i fished the second week of march at browning pond and comet pond fishing for the stocked trout. that just shows you that you can not have ice or loose it and get it back and then still have time to fish on it.

Can you imagine the amount of use this site will get if we can't get out icefishing this year and have to wait almost two years?! It's going to be insane!

Yah.. rain, ending with snow,, when the arctic air comes in for good..! new pattern has arrived you skeptics!..deep freeze all next week, on the ice in the berkshires, by the week after 22nd. and locally the week after.

yep 22news(western ma) reported highs of 39 for both days this weekend, he he said there is still a chance the temp will drop further and turn the rain to snow by this weekend....lets all hope.

At the lest you eastern ma boys can drive to the berks to get some fishing in, it's better than nothing
