PIKE CLEANING 101

i suck at cleaning pike, i butcher the crap out of  them not to mention leave all the bones in the fillet >:( it makes my upset to waste fish and not be getting any better, can someone in the metro teach me hands on? possiblly after a day of catching a few? Blake  :tipup:

well the problem with that ^ is that i have no sound card on my comp so there is a guy cutting up a fish with no sound, thanks but no thanks, i am a hands on type of learner. i kinda of liked the reading out loud stuff in school! :tipup: blake

blake b, do you know how to fillet a walleye? If you do, look at this diagram and make sure the fillet is facing up, that is the inside of the fillet not the skin side facing up with the belly of the fish down or toward you. If you know how to fillet a walleye, all you have to do is make two more cuts per fillet. Very simple. One above the dotted lines and one beneath both sort of away from you. I take and grind up most of teh northerns and make fish patties, or pickle them both ways the bones are not there when eaten. Another way is the bigger ones just boil the filletes and dip in butter the meat flakes away from the Y-bones and it is delicious
