G Loomis
« on: Nov 20, 2006, 09:06 PM »
Ok, I am in love with Loomis rods, and have started another post months ago on here about ice rods made by them, and have been told they DO exist. Does anyone out there have a picture?

Noone has a pic of one? I have never seen one, and I think they are a myth! I have their catalogs, and no listings of an ice rod! A few of you have seen them, but I don't believe ya!

I have seen them for sale on Ebay in the past, none this season yet.  The auctions have always originated in Canada with the rods selling for $70.00+.  They do exist :D, but are hard to get state side.

Why is that I wonder? They are made in WA state. I too have noticed that everyone that has talked about them is from Canada.

Well I'm a Canuck and have yet to see them but then again I have to come out of the bush just to hunt . LOL. We'll have to get Icejunky or tipuptwo on the trail to see if these rods live in Canada or not . ;)

yep BPS does carry them in Toronto/Vaughn, there is a local shop near me that Carries them as well on the Bay of Quinte, they carry a pretty heavy model and it only runs about 49$ same as you would pay for a St.Croix legend

Yes I got the rod but with ice the way it is around here at moment it still has not been tested . I don't think it's anything real special though and could have come with another eye or two . Just another rod to me till I see a fishy on it and I have nicer ones . ;) I think it will make a decent walleye and laker jigging stick but thats all I can say for now .

I shall do sir and reel seat my friend .? LOL . Ya gotta be kidding . It's tape job just like most are and I'm sorry for being a smartass . I got a reel on it now taped on and rod will be alright just depends your expectations . I was disappointed with QC of st croix legends so in comparison the G LOOMIS is way better a quality and put together right of a rod but not worth 50 bucks . If you want a custom well made rod talk to bobberstop . They have pride and eyes . ;)
