I'm back with some Browns!

not through the ice yet....but soon enough!  I hope y'all had a Great Christmas

The day before the death of his first child, my brother-in-law....Jon wanted to try his hand at catching some trout on the fly at a southern Maine tidal river.....(his first trip)

Mike was tying up some fancy stuff at 5AM riverside

Fishing was slow at first light.....Then Jon.... who was out in the middle of the river started hooting.....FISH ON....A pretty good battle insued, as the tide was ripping quite hard.....soon enough, he pulled in a brookie

at the same time, Mike hooked up across the river to a nice brown

I walked down stream and out of site from the guys.....and I caught my biggest brown of the day.....check out this photo of the fish in my net.....it looks fake it's so perfect.

I walked back up river.....hooked up again and Jon snapped a pic of this little brown

I was getting ready to leave....it's now noon and I am cold and tired  :'(   but then Jon flips out from across the river again....this time it's a brown

that fish gave him the small southern tidal Slam....brookie and a brown....same trip....in the tidal section.....pretty sweet....and god bless brotha  ;)   Adam would be proud of his old man  :angel

Trout on the fly, something I am going to take up next spring..I have a few buddies who flyfish that will never pick up a baitcaster or spinning reel...they swear by it.. After watching the technique in action a few times, it actually does not look that hard :)

Great job on the browns and brookie Bluefinforme  Now try finding a spot you can get 'em through the ice ;)
