Well Icechip has given up his secret spot to me. Feels now with all the bug kill wood and the loggers making roads into lake it shall be revealed soon enough. He has given me the OK to take some guys in there.
It is about a 65 kms snowmobile trek in. Might be able to get a bit closer but I have to check with logging company that is building roads up that way. Anyone on here have a snowmobile that might be interested in going up there for 4 or 5 nights. Spend some nights in a snowcave? Certainly would be warmer than the tents us BCers took last year. Maybe even cabin up there but Icechip said the one they used to stay in was quite old. Also very mountainous up there.
Icechip might come along with snowmachines but will be leaving the horses at home.
This trip wouldn't be for the weak. You have to be able to rough it. By that I mean if you break your leg, we will just have to splint it till the end of 4 or 5 day trip and we get back home. I will bring a bullet for you to bite as you jig for the monsters. Also need to be able to walk out (by snowshoes) if machines break down.
I have asked the natives about this lake and all reports are positive. I strongly believe you would be rewarded not only with 20-25lb burbot (according to Icechip as well as natives in area) but also 40-70lb lakers and 10-20lb rainbows. The natives don't care about world records but when I told them about the 24 lb burbot (cintail) , they just laughed and called that a Li'L one. Maybe they were messing with me but I have questioned quite a few now from the area and it sounds good.
This just might be one of the best icefishing trips of your life. A fishing paradise before it gets pillaged by some greedy minds with fishing nets
This lake will only be revealed to those that are coming
Of course I will be taking lots of pics of the area, fish etc. for all to enjoy. These will be pictures that Iceshanty has never seen before.
