Pics from New Underwood Dam
« on: Dec 04, 2006, 07:45 PM »
I took off after work to New Underwood Dam about 20 min. from Rapid City off of I-90 about 4pm.  Caught 1 little Crappie but got some nice pics.  The Ice was bout 5" thick and had some cool patterns to it I'd never seen before.

Just a pic of the ice

I got some other pics with the Sunset that just look cool.  Last one is kinda blurry.

Cool pix Kodiak,
I've driven by that dam a hundred times on my way to Rapid but have never fished it or talked to anyone that did. Do you fish there often?
Waterbeater out!<br />

Nice pics, good to see people out on the ice again. Looks like its gonna warm up over the weekend and stay above average for next week, hopefully the ice doesn't take a big hit.

Thanks Waterbeater...This is the first time I've seriously ice fished it.  I've taken my kids there during softwater season.  Lots of gills.

Garvdog, I hope it doesn't bite into the ice to bad.  It's supposed to get below freezing almost every night so hopefully it will at least maintain it's self even if no new Ice is made.

Kodiakman, the ice looks like that around Aberdeen too. I wonder if it looks like that becuse it was so cold when it formed. There are vehicles and large hardside ice housed on the lakes already.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.
