Aqua Vu Scout XL ?
« on: Dec 03, 2006, 02:28 PM »
Good little unit. The DVR or a camcorder will be next on my purchases.

The only downside I see to this unit is the charger for it. In the directions they ask that you unplug the connection from the TV to the battery while charging it? Does anyone know why you need to do that? It's not really all that convenient because you have to take the back cover off everytime? What is the point in all that with the external ability to charge it if you have to take the cover off to unplug the TV everytime? You will see in the pics below......

This would be because it takes the tv unit out of the equation if something would happen during the charging process. Though it's rare for this unit to overcharge it's self, you wouldn't want the unit to be accidently turned on during charging as you may short the tv out. This wouldn't be covered by warranty either. I've never heard of someone charging a battery while it's connected to a supply unit, not sure why this would be any different other than being inconvienent.
