Heading up the last weekend of Jan. Any updates on ice? Temps have been terrible, starts to drop the week we head up. Fingers crossed but wanted know if there has been any ice? Where’s the arctic blast!!!
Thanks all!

8" out off the launch yesterday, I didn't go north though. Not liking this forecast of warm weather then several inches of snow on Thursday night.

Posted this in another thread, but thought it is worth repeating with the snow coming and a lot of folks just getting out.
Was out north of the 78 bridge on Sunday. Although there is 5-7” of ice, it was noticed that there is open water (that was not there the day before). It appears to be a large area about 2/3 from bridge to the Canadian border. It is where the channel runs thru off of Donaldsons point. With the cold last night it could have skimmed over. This is an accident waiting to happen if not familiar with the area. If you plan to go out on an ATV be very careful.
Be safe out there!

Generally like that in the area. Most folks that fish up there are aware.

Any danger postings are appreciated. Many of the ice report requests have few posting numbers to their name and likely to be trying out new areas.

Solid ten last I heard from a guy I work with. Been a city on the weekends with limited ice else were. Good luck check ice often. There is normally pressure ridges that form as you get out 1/2 -3/4 mile or so and near the mouth the river

Martins store posted something yesterday on Facebook yesterday. He recommended that nobody try driving out there anymore. Not even on an atv. Must be a rough winter for his business between bait and renting shanties.
