I checked out Kenai lake a little over a week ago and there was still lots of open water and very little ice.  Kenai lake is a scarey lake to drive on.  I only did it once. The next week I was talking with a guy that lost his pickup through the ice last year so be really careful.

yeah kenai lake doesent freeze over when the nearbye lakes are good and solid. Its probably just that it has a lot of surface motion because its pretty much flowing slowly from the snow river drainage to the kenai river.

Thanks for the info though. ( and i wasnt planning on driving on the lake I always walk and tow a sled with me )
