Saw a pic of a guy who went threw it with his truck earlier in the week. Darwinism at work.
Real good Steve, we were biting this morning..we were biting this morning...

I haven't been there since last fall.  It usually has knee-deep snow by this time.  With the store gone and Bear Lake Bob relocating it is difficult to get any information.  Any reports will be welcomed.

I'm sure hijinks has had a look at it. Not sure he would give you a report tho. lol. It was the first place I ever ice fished back around 1985. My grandparents had a trailer there at Arts place. I loved fishing there in the summer for fun but on the ice never had any luck there. Stopped by 2 years ago and was upset to see the store gone. Reason I don't go back often is drag sucks to where I want to go and never do any good. But the memories will bring me back to that spot every couple years. Maybe this year I'll get out there or on Erie again. I'd love to see a pic of a truck thru the ice there. Any chance you can share?

That guy drove out at the boat launch... for whatever reason
I drove by on the 20th somebody had checked it and only went out 20 foot and came back in  I did not check myself figured with that and the fact that there is about 8 inches of snow on it and no other tracks it was enough said.  I was not going fishing at that time just a drive by.. that being said use a spud and go slow it is a spring and creek fed lake so be careful

Has anyone fished Bear in the last few weeks? Was thinking about checking it out.

Historically Bear conditions are Chautauqua X 2.  I thought Chautauqua was a mess last weekend.  I wouldn't even try Bear now.  But you never know..
If you do get out please let us know snow and slush conditions.  Did good there last year in a 12' car topper.

Al was a buddy of mine who owned the shop there. Good dude, but not business savvy. Let us stay for free during off peak times in an extra camper. Spent his extra money at the casino and booze, which ultimately was the shops demize.
Anyways - I may pop into Bear this week to fish. Trying Allegheny and smaller lakes. Done with the 6" perch on the well known lake to the east. In my opinion it's a waste of time to fish this days.

Sounds good, let us know what it's like this week if you go. I'm debating going on Saturday
