Action in the Glennie/Hale area
« on: Feb 02, 2022, 08:13 AM »
We're heading up to the cabin in Glennie next week for an extended stay.  Hope to "rip some lips" on the hard water.  Plan on tip ups for pike and hole hopping for some slabs and gills.  Any action in that area?  not looking for exact GPS spots but rather some info on lakes in the area.. Thank you.  Good luck this year.  Stay warm, Stay dry, Stay SAFE!

Check out Crooked Lake just north of 72 a couple miles west of 65, I believe it's technically in Curran.  Have done great on gills, epic evening bite on several occasions there and even caught a few decent walleye dead sticking minnows on a jig.  I didn't ever target pike, but I'm sure there are plenty.  Access can be a problem when there's a lot of snow because they don't plow the launch but I don't think there's much on the ground in that area right now.  If you hit it, let me know how you do.  I haven't had a chance to get up that way in the winter for a few years.

Thanks greenl41.  Hope to get up there a lot more then the previous years.  Had a great trip last year ice fishing with my son and his best friend, but we went at the worst time.  Moon phase was all jacked up for fishing, my Vexlar crapped the bed and it was butt a$$ cold outside.  It got up in the low teens maybe 1 day out of 6.  This coming from a man who walks around in t shirt and shorts all winter long.  I'll send you a note if we hit or miss.  Thanks for the info.  If you happen to get out this year, stay warm, stay dry and stay safe.
