Season extensions
« on: Feb 24, 2021, 03:52 AM »
With the current weather changes fish and game needs to change things like pushing the ice season up and we probably could throw around to covid-19 card maybe if we all complain enough or sign a petition we could get seasons and dates moved

You can't make a movement by doing nothing  your ice fishing season is just too unpredictable these years

Idk about you but I'll still be ice fishing until there isn't any more ice. No reason to change seasons. Just need to know where to fish
The BIG one is just one flag away!

Species caught : largemouth, smallmouth,  bluegill, perch, White perch, crappie, trout, catfish, bowfin, pickerel, pike

I'm with Ravo. Plenty of places to fish after February. I rarely target trout anyway.

I'm on the fence. Would it be nice to fish wherever you want after February, yes. On the other hand, lakes with popular species get creamed all season. The other night there were so many tipups in the lake I don't think a fish could move without seeing a bait. It's not a coincidence that fishing in those lakes is great after no ice for two years, so cutting it off makes sense too. Even is the reason is stocking trout.
