Outfisherman1 not sure where your located or how far it is from you but give clear lake a try, I was truly suprised based on all the negative posts I was reading about it during early ice. I would drive by and every parking lot would be jam packed so I kept driving thinking as the season went on guys would go elsewhere and they certainly have. Crappie bite is pretty steady lot of shorts but the keepers are there I’d say roughly 5 to 1 for keepers.
There are nice ones in clear lake, it’s been crazy there with all the fishermen, some guys are decent others are pricks lol, I also live 15 minutes from there, there are some big fish in there for sure , got say tho up the road winter’s pond has big crappies, I’ve got 18 1/2 incher on the wall
Not in wny but best crappie lake in New York is black lake. If you want crappie its worth the drive
remember that little qustinare tat the state was taking and lowering blue gill limits? well in that state wide was a min 10 inch crappie and talk of a 15 fish limit .....and now ya know why some of use got fired up?? of it's ok because all that perch water is gong to get alot more crowded because i rather catch 50 perch then 15 crappies
my buddy was just at black lake and did well
