aqua vu and the red river
« on: Nov 04, 2006, 06:23 PM »
Has anyone used an Aquavu on the red during the hard water?
This year I can only purchase one item and don't know what to get. Eather a aquavu or a flasher. I do lots of fishing on the red as well as twin beaches. I know a aquavu will be good at the beaches but what about the red and can you see your lure with it on the red and how far can you see?

I agree 110%.  A aqua view is a great tool under good conditions and the murkier waters of the red make it hard to see much. I have seen a few in operation on the red and while they do work sort of ok i wouldnt bother with setting it up.

Now with a flasher it is a different story. Once you learn how to properly read it you will catch more fish as a result.

Get a flasher for sure!   ;D

flasher, shouldn't even be a decision. The flasher is easier to set up and jump from hole to hole and works regardless of water clarity.
pour me another one, I'm finished with the other one

Flasher all the way.  You'll love it, and won't believe how you ever fished without one.  After using it a couple times and then forgeting to bring it once, you'll feel like your blind.  8)

Yeah half blind anyway....like me :roflmao:

I have both camera and flasher. Sure use the flasher more especially when water a little murky.

Serious Walleye anglers use flashers! ;)
Just having a flasher is not the end all.
Learning to read a flasher properly can significantly improve your angling experience! ;D

What do you not get, how to read the depth, reading fish, seeing your lure?  They're pretty easy once you know what you're looking at.
