Lowrance fish finder case
« on: Feb 13, 2021, 05:08 PM »
I have a lowrance x510c that I use for ice fishing. I want to buy a case for ice fishing. I'm looking at the vexilar blue box. Anyone know if it will fit? Or another one that would fit. Lowrance has a kit for $160, but I don't want to spend that much. I will just make one for cheaper. The vexilar blue box is only $30. And does the blue box hold a normal 12v battery? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks

I just installed a Garmin unit onto a Genz box.  I just screwed a piece of wood where the mount needs to go.  Here is a pic.  With a little trying, I am willing to bet any unit can be mounted to a Genz box.  Pretty nice set of kit if you ask me.  Plus I believe there are more than a few lithium batteries that will fit into that box.

So where does the battery go? My batteries are similar to this one

In the back, under where the "cup" is for the transducer.  There are 4 screws, and the whole back half comes apart.  Battery is nestled nice, tight and comfy right inside.
If you have a line on a Genz box, that's great.  I purchased last week from Scheels in Eden Prarie, MN.  They had several in stock.  Check online, or call that store.  Also Reeds sports in Onamia, MN had a few in stock.  If they don't show online, give them a call.
