Ice Helix 7
« on: Jan 30, 2021, 06:35 PM »
Hello everyone!

I just recently purchased a humminbird ice helix 7 G3N and I love the unit so far! One thing I’ve noticed though, is when I turn the sonar option off, so I can use the GPS only feature and then turn sonar back on, to start fishing, it’s almost like it doesn’t recognize there’s a transducer connected and all I can view is the navigation menu and screenshot menu. Sonar doesn’t even appear in the main menu bar. But once I turn the unit off and power it back on, then it’s like it does recognize a transducer and goes to the flasher display. Anyone else have this issue or know what’s going on?

If you give the helix a few minutes it will recognize the ducer again. Just takes it a few minutes to switch back over for some reason. Kind of the same deal with when you turn it on and it takes a few minutes to find a GPS lock.

Amped Outdoors shows it's out of stock.
Anyone have info where I can purchase a battery and charger like this.
Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it.

You are looking at about $100 for a new lithium Life P04 battery ($30 more for the charger).  lasts much longer and weighs much less than a lead acid battery and comes with an 11 year warranty from Dakota.

Just FYI, the battery % isn't going to read correctly.  They aren't made to read a lithium battery, only SLA batteries.  Lithium battery voltage is constant until it essentially dies.  The SLA batteries slowly lose voltage as they 'drain'.
