Struble, scotts & hope

Rode over to Kurtz's for minnows today. Was amazed to see Struble all locked up. Rode thru French creek state park on the way home. Hopewell was mostly open water. Scott's run was mostly capped. The edges were open a few feet. Upper end in the shallows was all open water  though. The wind might rip it open .

The wind will likely tear up anywhere with open water. That said, if Struble stays capped for a couple days there is at least some hope. Wouldn't know how to act if I could ice fish a half hour from home.

 Surprising... went by both Ontelaunee(73) and Blue Marsh(Dry Brooks) yesterday and they had both lost the ice cap by mid-morning. Both had pretty extensive skim ice caps on them Friday.

Actually that area has many farm ponds and none had any ice.

I'm going to drive over to Kurtz this week; probably Wednesday.
I'll take a peak and post what I see.
Things should lock up Tuesday night.

No doubt Len. The wind opened up Scott's run too. Its not looking good for another week here. Time to get the boat out. Ducks are closed & Deer season ends sat. .Time to fish the open water
