Ice Mountains From The WInd and Ice Break Up
« on: Apr 15, 2020, 02:15 AM »
I'm sure folks see this occasionally on different lakes around.  I was pretty happy to see these ice mountains forming on Lake Nipissing from high winds this year.  Anyone else see this kind of thing on their home lakes?

Hey, thanks for posting that!  Never seen that before.  Looks like that lake is much bigger than those near me, I wonder if that makes a difference.

Thanks, FG Steve.  This has only happened to this scale maybe once before since I've lived here.  Nipissing is a big inland lake and I'm situated on that widest part that receives the most amount of wind.

Kokemachine thanks for the video. If you have a lake front home may the ice wall not get near it.
