We were planning on heading out for the last trip in the boat but I think that may be off as there will be ice on the lakes after this weekend for sure.

-16c windchill today in Saskatoon!!!!!!!!   Not one day forcasted for above freezing for the next week!!!!!!!!!

I still need 6" of ice before I venture out but it shouldn't be long now!!!!!!

It's too early, gotta wait until I've shot my big whitetail for the year, gotta beat my dad's from last year.  Could be tough but I'm gonna give it a shot. ;D  Then it's off for some big pike fishing after that. :o

3" is pushing you luck man, unless you're on the clear black stuff. I love the black ice, I'd go out on 3" of black anyday. 4" of greypack was a little sketchy last year. FOR THE LOVE OF ICE POST SOME PICS IF YOU DO!!!!

All I need is 4" of ice...maybe 3" but I think I'm going to wait for 4"...It's a step up, like a year to two years ago I waited for 8" of ice.

I like to stay dry when I'm ice fishing, and I don't want to go swimming either!!!!!!!

I would say if this weather stays the way it is we will have 6 to 8" by Nov. 11th on the small lakes.

Good luck and stay safe if you go this weekend MP!!!!!!!!!

There was a slew outside saskatoon that I was out on today.  I didn't have my Auger with me, but But looking at the ice, I could tell it was at least 2 inches thick.

I think I'm gonna go out to blackstrap this weekend just to say I fished, even though blackstrap hardly produces anything.

Does anyone know were the safest place is to walk out is(flattest slope)?  I don't want to walk out where it goes from 5-15 feet in a matter of footsteps.  If there is 2 inches where it is 5 feet deep, there might not even be 1 inch where it's 20 feet deep.

Anywhere in the center of Sheilds town site doesn't get deeper that 6 ft until you get out about 100yds.
