Portable to fit in a car
« on: Oct 26, 2006, 03:21 PM »
Hey everyone, gonna be getting a new portable here pretty soon and need to find one that will fit in my car. The trunk is pretty good sized and the back seats fold down also. I was hoping to get a flipover but i dont know if i can find one that will fit. The eskimo qick fish would fit for sure so might have to go with that. Any one with the same problem?, is there anything else that might fit? just trying to look at all the options i guess

Nature Vision makers of Aqua-Vu came out with a shack called the pac shack it all fits in a bag and is attached to one of those fold up chairs looks pretty neat and runs for 99.99 which is pretty cheap for a one man pull over. They show it on there video which you can get for free on there site. Not sure how tough the stuff they make them out of is and how it would fair in windy situations.

what kind of car do you have? If its a hatch you probably could. I can fit my shappell rover 1 into my 00' mercury cougar

A car description is a good start...

I have a friend that has a newer Toyota Camery and the back seat drops down.
There is enough room to fit a Shappell DX3000, auger and buckets with gear and neccessities... and it still leave comfortable room for the driver and passenger!

fold the rear seats down, then take your length, width, height measurements and go from there. The folded size of the shanty's are on the manufacture's web pages and sometimes on the dealers sites. At least you'll know what possibly could fit in your car.

agreed... I measured mine still was unsure, so i drove to a local tackle shop that had what i was lookin for, and asked if i could fold it up to see if it would fit in my car, and they didn't mind.

both my shappell dx 3000 and my frabil one man flip, fit in the back of my car as along as the seats are down, that was one of the first things I checked when I purchased them

Your really only have one choice here,

at only  160 dollars it cant be beat, plus it dosent take up much trunk space at all, you wont even have to fold down the seats. On top of that- I think 4 people could fish out of this house. About any other style shanty that would fit in a car would only fish 1 person, 2 at the very most.
