Transducer Maintenance
« on: Jan 23, 2020, 04:38 PM »
The transducer on my MarCum M-5 has a few scratches. (I don’t know where they came from, I always secure it in the carrier for storage.) How will this effect performance, and is there something I should do to rectify the problem?  :-\

Not saying you don’t pay attention to your transducer, I see on ice fishing videos guys pulling the transducer out of the hole and just kind of tossing it on to the ice. Makes me cringe every time! I have actually been cut by an ice shard. Because I have read about transducers melting, so normally I lay mine on it’s side. Don’t jiggle around on the face. Don’t think it will cause a problem depending on how deep the scratches are. Good luck!

Are those bootstraps over your shoulders maybe cutting off circulation to the brain? Lol 🤔🤔

My fishing always improved from scratches. 😁
