I'll guess it was the perception it was starting to become a "language" thing. Don't forget the Shanty has always been family friendly and certain stuff will get things locked. I know I tread a fine line myself at times but I'm always cognizant that "little Johhny" might be on here and the onus on us is to set a good example. I know, poor language choices are widely accepted these days but here we gotta maintain a little decorum. I do happen to think that's a good thing.

Not certain that's what it was but just guessing.
To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

:P   I I think we were getting off the original subject and maybe spending too much time criticizing friends from further south?
I was happy to find that AA and I are from Dover and both ice fish with TRAPS!

The Crappie Flop!  When you slip on the ice or have to many beverages. ( I mean SODAS ) And flop on the ground. Like when you caught a crappie on a boat and it flops around! LOL

Hear, hear!

I call  mine traps as well... I only. Use the term tip up when I'm not trying to be redundant. .. I know big word for a little  guy.

Tip ups sound too sophisticated. . Besides. They don't tip up..they flag up!

I was just curious, didn't see any offensive language, you'd think the post itself would just get deleted instead of locking it all up. Whoever locked it must call them tilts.

I did not see the orig post but I am puzzled and marvel at the many ways you Americans use the word 'trap'----at least 3 as it pertains to ice fishing!! A hut, a tip-up(I think), and --believe it or not, an actual TRAP! as in minnow trap! ;D

You're from Dover and you're a surveyor.  You never answered my question in a different thread where you survey or who for?
