this looks to be the last week. if we get the weather they say it wont last this time. we have already lost several inches over the last week and the spring holes are opening up big time. be safe, its time for more news stories!

I think you're right. The ice I've been on has lots of cracks and air in it. A little warm is going to go a long way. Not to mention any rain we get. 50 this weekend and I'm out. Going to try and get out one last time today. I don't like spudding around that much anyway.

I agree, going to spend the next few weekends cleaning carbs and getting the boat ready for spring. All the lakes around here are ready for launch. Going to attempt Saturday up north but if I get the no go from my buddy ill be packing up my ice gear.

Yep and I'm ready for it ! Fishing hasn't been good this year so far to me . And I'm ready to get the new boat out and hit some new waters . First trip ..... Lake Erie

Ya I fished on Grandpa's 14-footer for a very long time always been good to me and caught lots of fish off the side of that boat. Now it's my son's the wife decided to surprise me with a 20 foot Lund Alaskan brand spanking new for my birthday I do a lot of big lake fishing. I got to enjoy it through the perch season last year and I can't wait to get on all of the big fish this year. Good luck to you and making it happen

Git some tonight, found them in 5 fow and caught them 1-3' below the ice. Took me a while to find the stack but once I did they came quick. Over 20 from 1 hole in a little over 30 minutes. Left them biting before dark and moved a few hundred yards to where I thought I could get some crappie after dark. First drop, bam! After that not another bite. Wish I would have stayed put.

I didn't. I've misplaced my vex charger and was afraid to hook anything else on my battery. Fished with a lantern for a while but no luck. The first drop after I started the lantern I got a decent crappie and that was it. I swear every time I get minnows I can't catch crap! Managed 40 but most were just eaters. Caught around 30 including shorts out of one hole in 5fow 1-3' below my transducer.

I was out from around 2 till a little after dark. Ice is pretty crappy, unless you ask the guys testing their drag sleds. I guess if you're doing 100 you're ok. I don't think I'll be back out there (bradys side). The shallow, weedy water doesn't help hold ice. Picked up about 40 eaters around half crappie and half gills. Who knows what this weather will do?
