Thank you. I’ll have to give it a couple more weeks.

The cove near the launch is good...just no damn fish. Buddy jigged a monster salmon but other than some small Cusk Friday night the fishing was colder than the ice, per usual on this lake.

I'd give it a couple of weeks. One cove was locked up enough on Friday but the wind was beating the living $#*% out of the ice yesterday and I could only imagine what happened last night. My buddy lives on the lake and told me he was forced off yesterday due to the wind. Some ice was breaking up. Hope this helps, I love that lake and last year we were spoiled with great early ice.

Saw a couple guys out there at first light this morning.  There isn't a huge area but where there is ice it's plenty safe.  If you see more than five vehicles at the launch however you're going to be elbow to a-hole.

Has anyone been out since the last storm to see how the ice looks? I've had a few customers through asking.

I was out there this morning for a couple hours .   Then around 9:30am 2 guys  unloaded their atv and proceeded to drive all the way across without stopping to check the ice once! I was out their on Thursday(last week) and Saturday, the area's they drove across had just caught between that time .  I sure hope they didn't venture out much further from where I last saw them.

As of this morning there is still a portion of the lake that is open water.

FWIW- I didn't notice much ice growth in the boat launch cove from Saturday - today  , maybe a inch.

Be careful on this lake guys.

Not surprised! Yesterday, I watched a guy head right off on a wheeler over a section of lake that was open water 3 days before.
Luckily he was moving.....no splash.
