Want to see some Wilcraft mods!
« on: Dec 29, 2018, 06:43 PM »
I just got a Wilcraft (not brand new, a few years old) but want to make mods.  It’s pristine inside as it was an older man who had it before me.  He passed away and I got it direct from Tom at Wilcraft.  I didn’t get to pick it up personally, so unfortunately I didn’t get to see any others there or anything else on display at the shop to get ideas.  I was too busy at work and then recovering from a knee operation.  I have a few ideas as I’ve modded my shanty like crazy.  Some will transfer over, but there’s not much online or on social media about these bad boys being tricked out.  Here in Northern Ohio we’re waiting for ice so I need something to do besides driving my Wilcraft up and down the driveway!

I have a 2014 model, I added a side seat to mine, made a propane carrier and added a digger auger carrier to the front. I also have a trolling motor mount made for the front.

There is also a Wilcraft owners group on Facebook if you are interested in that.

Those are unique units.  How thick must the ice be to drive on it with this?

I have been out on 3 inches of clear ice, beauty of these is if you break through it floats and you can get back up on the ice.

Thanks guys.   Great ideas.   I joined the Facebook group, got more good ideas there.  They say it’ll go on 1.5” of ice, but I’m going to wait for 2.  I’m not good with it yet and don’t want to spend my whole day getting unstuck if I break through.
