Jiffy goes electric
« on: Dec 19, 2018, 08:05 PM »
Anyone use one?  Seen one, I hate to move away from my gas auger, but next up will be electric : the little reviews I’ve read on Jiffy electric haven’t been very well, from “seems cheap” just doesn’t sound like Jiffy first impressions ,
Anyways can anyone chime in on actually using one & what you thought of it

I looked at one at Scheels. Never used one though. Seemed really un-ergonomic/cumbesome just like their gas models...

I have one. I like it. I got the 10" auger. I've only used it once on 6" ice, but it cut fast, and was way nicer to run than any gas auger, propane or 2 cycle. I would buy it again. Just like most things everyone will have their own opinion. I used a Jiffy Model 30 for 15 years and it always cut good. They've been making augers for a long time.

I still use my 1999 Jiffy Model 30.  Not buying anything new until this one gives out.
wish you many hook-ups

Thanks
I like the idea of electric but I’ll wait a year or two and see how they hold up and keep mixing fuel
