What kind of line is everyone using for panfish and the occasional walleye?

On most setups I use 8# fireline smoke with a small swivel and 4# trilene 100% fluorocarbon leader 2-3’ tied direct for pannies. Can switch the leader to 8# flouro for walleyes. The “trophy” walleye rod is the same with with a bigger, higher quality reel for the smoothness and better drag. Experimented with 2# p-line with no swivel or leader on a straight line setup for bluegills last winter with good results but ultimately thought it was no better than the aforementioned. Many opinions on line but I found that summer fire line is the same as winter except cheaper and bigger spools and the smoke color is better for water retention.

I use four pound Trilene Cold Weather or Ice Line on all my rods and I mainly fish for pan fish and bass and haven't had any problems with line breaking.  Occasionally get a pickerel which sometimes cuts the line with it's teeth but that's to be expected.  Just as important with the quality and strength of the line is tying a good strong knot.

Last year I used Stroft GTM line. Super thin line diameter and very strong. Ordered direct from Germany in spool sizes of 200 and 300 meters. Felt like thinner line diameter made a big difference on negative bite days, especially when I went down to .07mm (.002in/1.7 lbs) line. My go-to line on most days was 2.5lb, which was still very thin (.09mm/.0035 in) but strong enough to land bigger gills and crappies.

3 or 4 pound fluoro. Haven't decided on a brand I like any better than another.  Tried braid and felt like I needed to take off 20 ft every few times I went out due to being impatient with it freezing up.

Ive had trouble with braid freezing but nano is different.
