Took a chance and went out this morning...I figured the top layer of ice would not have set up quite yet and I was right. Regardless, walked thru and sometimes was lucky enough to stay on top of the crust and other times fell about 2-3” down through the slop.
I did manage to get one fish above the ice today and released it to grow larger. The wind was very gusty at times and became difficult to deal with in the tent, so i called it a day shortly after lunch.
The hard sides in shantyville looked good...none were leaning or blown over. You will have to do some jacking or chiseling out of your blocks and jacks though as they look like they are going to freeze solid. There is a good 14” of solid ice and 2-4” of new crust on top.
Tight lines everyone
