Togue Jigs?
« on: Feb 23, 2006, 06:07 PM »
What are some of your favorite togue jigs?  I have been jigging the North end of Lake Thompson for the past two days with no hts.  I have been using sweedish pimple, Northland Airplane jig both tipped with cut sucker.  No takers!  I set one tip up with a medium shinner and in fifteen minutes hooked a 24" salmon.  What a surprise. Any help with togue would be greatly appreciated.

Spro jigs in various sizes, night glow saltwater size tubes slid on 3/8oz-3/4oz banana head jigs, airplane style jigs.  All sporting the all important piece of strip of sweet sucker.  I usually start heavy (1oz), drop it to the bottom, rap the bottom repeatedly for 5secs, then lift it a foot off the bottom, jig it back down to just off the bottom, and hold position. Repeat as necessary. ;)

Leadfish with cut bait is not a bad choice either. Maybe the technique you are using needs to be altered?
