8in. to 10ln.

Thinking about a 8in. hand auger but useing 10in. blades . Would that work ? Maybe would help with some weight . I would use a clam plate with this set up . thanks for any feed back .

Strikemaster 8 inch is actually a seven with larger blades. If thats what you have i would say no. Why would you ever need a ten inch to begin with.

Hole stays open longer, bigger fish, more beer when you drill one halfway for a cooler, etc.

Got rid of my 10" my auger came with and got me an 8". More than enough to catch a big Laker. The wife went in up to her knee stepping in one of the 10" holes. They are over kill.

.      When ice goes off that hole will be 12” or bigger!  Found a hole on a panfish lake I fish that I could stick a 5 gallon bucket in !!

I had an old Mora 10 " hand auger..
Unless you are  into self torture. ..don't even think about it. ..your arms and shoulders will thank you .
