Trophy Strike put an electric auger on the market last year. Has anyone bought one yet or seen one in action?

Saw the video and stuff looks like a good auger.

My worry about them is how long will they be around? How difficult is it to find batteries or chargers for the unit. (Not to mention the cost) With the ion, there are a lot of retailers and places that carry ion batteries and stuff. Same with drill setups. I know if I bought one I'd go on a trip and forget the battery or charger and need to find one locally around the area we would go to fish which would be hard to do with the trophy strike. Hope the product takes off and a lot of places carry them.

I got to use a friends a little during late ice last year, and it was pretty underwhelming.  The cut was pretty aggressive, but it struggled to get through the foot or so of soft ice we had in March.  You had to sort of lift the auger and feather it as you went through the last few inches or it would bind up.  I also thought the hammer function was kinda hokey.  It didn't seem to do anything besides make a bunch of noise.  The blade protector was pretty useless as well.  This was the 40 Volt model though, so it'll be interesting to see how the 120 Volt model works.

Hey fellow ice fishermen!

We have an all new auger design that we are launching that improves the cut through as you punch through the last inch of ice.  We also removed the mechanical impact function on the new model (2018 model year) in response to customers wanting a light unit.  This reduces the weight of the power head by 2 lbs.  Additionally we raised the RPM of the 120v unit by 10%.  Look for some new videos later this winter.  We will also be at the following ice shows:

The 2017 St. Paul show December 1 - 3, 2017 St. Paul River Centre
175 Kellogg Boulevard West
St. Paul, MN 55102

Almost all the points above, lead one to look for something at home depot, for example?  ;)

And what, you can use it for cleaning by grill, building another shanty, or a Smitty sled?

Also the chargers, batteries are interchangeable with our Redback power equipment brand, 120v and 40v.  So those wondering if we'll be around for a long time shouldn't be concerned.

We also make all of the Dirty Hand Tools equipment in Colorado.  (parent company is Frictionless World)
