Thanks everyone for all the great input this has turned out to be a very good thread, why do you suppose they would prefer a minnow head over just a smaller minnow?
whole minnow works too, but on a dropper chain a  minnow head has better jigging action and has worked better for me.jmo.

I bought some flutter spoons a few years ago at the ultimate fishing show. I've caught every species you can imagine on them. Gills, perch, bass, pike, bull head. Bluegill color is my favorite but firetiger glow and wonder bread glow are close seconds. I love halis for perch. And you cannot go wrong with a small dare devil. Hope this helps

I like the frostee spoons... The ones with the red glow eyes are one My favorite for crappie ... Halis tipped with a waxie or spike has pulled a gill or 2 as well

Just picked up some 1/6 oz. Lindy Frostee's.  Plan on using them for bluegill and crappy.  I must admit, they sure look like they will be killers!  Can't wait until Thursday, my first time out this season, to try them.
Love the frostees they glow really good too.... Blue glow and white with the red eye was my best producer last season.... Next was green and yellow with red eye

Although the smaller size seems to work better... So downsizing the treble onnthe bigger one might be a solid plan

i prefer using a dropper chain with single hook and slender spoons gets used the most when using spoons for pan fish so normally small jigs are first to be used. spoons come out when jigs fail to produce. they are also helpful trying to hold a school of perch while landing one a jig.

What are the size of the hooks in the pic, Slayer?  I picked up the 1/16 from Fishusa, but that was the only size I could find.
Not real sure they are what came on it but the smaller one is the 1\16 oz the bigger is 1/4oz

Hi Everyone
I had been looking at various dropper chains to add to my spoons and wasn't happy with the looks or sizes of most of them. But I recently found packages of Sitka dropper chains with single gold hooks on them but these have clips at both ends. So you can easily switch sizes and single or treble hooks as needed and they come in four packs, I think they were about $2.80 for the four pack. Which is quite a bit less than most of the other brands I was seeing, I hope this helps, I'm looking forward to trying them if we ever get safe ice around here.
Good fishing and be safe.

Where can you find these chains?

I'm not sure if the any of the sites on here have them or not I got mine from a local tackle shop in southwest Michigan. I know a lot of places sell Sitka ice jigs, I haven't tried Sitka's home page either, good luck, it shouldn't be too hard too find them. Good fishing
