Central Iowa Ponds

Hey guys,

Not looking for anyone's hot spot, but does anyone know any ponds in the central Iowa area to ice fish? I have been to a few in the Ames area with limited success.

There are some gem public ponds that hold some decent fish but I don't really know which ones those are.  I have been told Ankeny has some decent city ponds.  I would try your darndest to make friends with farmers or land owners.  My best ponds came from farming acquaintances.
