RIP QUICK FISH 6, RIP
« on: Feb 25, 2017, 06:56 PM »
So we fished black lake in the rain today. Caught some decent fish, got some cool pics

Fished throughout the morning with the random thunderstorm. Wasn't to bad at all. Then around 1:30pm I got reminded what outflow winds are... Hut didn't have a chance. The wind was blowing the tip ups out of the holes. Needless to say the ice screws held.

RIP QUICK FISH 6...

When it let go, it some how got twisted up in my augur and took that about 200 yards before letting it go. Haven't pulled it out of the trunk yet to see if it still runs. Was rolling pretty good.

Sorry for your loss. Hopefully the Eskimo can be resuscitated.
Being on ice is nice but the tug is the drug.

Were you able to recover the shelter or did it blow away?

I feel your pain brother!!! Lost my Shappell last year on Schroon Lake. Had to watch it blow into the Schroon River and sink. It was a horrible feeling knowing there was absolutely no way to retrieve it. At least you had yours staked down properly. I had only one stake half way in and it ripped it right out of the ice. Hard lesson learned. All the stakes go in now- although I guess that may not matter by the looks of it. LOL.  ???

Wow!  Look on bright side.  No injuries!  Things can be replaced, people cannot.  Hope things work out for you.
