Ice Conditions on Country Pond in Kingston
« on: Feb 15, 2017, 05:47 PM »
Hey Guys.

Posting for a friend who will be taking a Scout Troop to Lone Tree Scout Reservation on Country Pond this weekend.

Pending Ice Conditions they may try do some ice fishing? Does anyone happen to know the general conditions there or in the general area?

Thank You.

I fished the side by the boat launch back in january with 7 inches but weather has been up and down simce then. They cancelled the derby couple weeks back so not a good sign. Wish I could help more

I let My Buddy know that it's probably best to keep the kids off the ice there this weekend. Especially with all the snow weighing it down and hiding any possibile weak spots.

I can't imagine it's safe, especially not with all of this weight on it from the snow. I'm not aware of any ponds that are safe right now in this area.

I would keep the kids off..hasn't been really good all year..I bet the camp Lincoln side is better but there will be a billion inches of snow
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

I spoke with My Buddy earlier today explaining that with all the snow camouflaging any possible hazards as well as the extra weight on the ice it wouldn't be a good idea.

He completely agrees & they will work on other winter skills related training/activities.

Thank You for the responses Guys
