I factored it in, it was just real cheap @ $5. Individual results vary when piecing something together for cheap

That is probably correct. I have 4 or 5 that have all been about that price from yard sales but I also live in a different area and apparently am a hoarder. thats one of the ways that individual results will vary. Also some people who ice fish may already own an auger that they might use as I did. It is very true that starting from scratch would likely cost more than that to have a drill auger rig and I wasn't trying to start a thing I was just planting the idea that with a little hunting deals are out there and the cost can be cut somewhat substantially

Ya I feel ya,  I'm no deal hunter unless it's online. Never stopped at a yard sale in my life, don't really see them much, and if I do it's usually early on a saturday and I'm heading off to fish so I ain't stoppin.
