things to do during the thaw

50 degrees and  water puddles everywhere ...........I got the ole 20 ga  double out o know them bunnie holes are full of water and they will be out !  squirrel hunting would be great too .....why set inside and  complain  ,get out side and have some fun.........

I agree! This guy will be working on a few custom ice rods for my buddies back west..I have too many hobbies to be bored.

If thaw, do what I did before ice had started - fish Lake Ontario tribs for steelhead and browns...iike this fatty (a solid 12lb+ fish) I caught on January 1st - 1st fish of 2017. She is still swimming for someone else to catch.  ;)

Lot's of hard water up North! Eel Bay, Goose Bay, Black Lake, LOTI.... been heading north a lot with all the snow on Sandy and thin ice on Oneida! Good fishing but looong ride

Go ice fishing.  Bites usually good during these periods.  This weather is great for bringing my daughter with me.
