Anyone been to the res?is it even open?drove by about a month ago and the gate to the launch  was closed.i know the water is the lowest ive ever seen . Just wonderin whats up?  Hopeing to at least take a ride by this weekend.any info would be great thanx.

The level is rising currently so the edges are going to dissapear and usually when it happens no plank will help.  I'll take a look tonight Bob but it has not looked good everything I've passed in the last 3 weekends.

Water level has come up about 16' in the last 6 weeks or so. Hopefully it will be full for spring.

I hope so.  I can't beat a 3 minute tow to one of the most underfished large body of waters in CT.  I love trolling there.

I've heard that place kicks out 4-5 lb smallies pretty regularly in the fall once you get to know the hot spots. Wish i lived between there and candy!

It has it's days for smallies...but I would hesitate to agree with on the regular.  It's a deep drop shot pattern that works best for me most of the time. I find them by using a drift sock and heavy drop shot weights drift along and eventually you can run into them.  I've caught some large ones at surprising depths trolling leadcore midlake...
