One last weekend
« on: Mar 22, 2006, 07:41 AM »
Looks like it's coming to an end :'(, after a pretty good season it's almost over. Heading out on Saturday to Piseco to jig some lakers ;D. Met a bunch of new members this year and had some great trips with them!! Wish Lake George and Otsego froze a little earlier but at least they did for a couple of trips. Now it's time to get the boat ready for some open water.

Anyone else headed out?

I would like to go to schroon but not sure of the ice conditions. That's the closest place for me with possible ice.

Man I'm kinda getting tired of drilling holes...... I just brought the new boat down from camp last night to get her "up-fitted" so it won't be long and we'll be trolling on 4th lake for some mercury tainted lakers ;D.

We had a great day on Piseco. Met up with Robb, iceenut04, OZZY and their family and friends. We caught some nice lakers. No keepers but I will post the pictures on Monday. Thanks Robb for the nice venison lunch and the use of the vex.

Yup,today was the last day on the ice for me and had a great day. Thanks to the generosity of Robb and AdkRoy,Jacob had yet another great day on the ice and he has earned the hard-core label(7 year old that gets up at 3:30 am and rides in the truck for an hour and a half and never complains, and all he talks about is fishing)...Yeah he's hard-core alright, and I think I've got a solid fishing partner.

Mike you have a little fishing partner for life there. I can't believe how he devoured that venison. We'll probably be seeing him with his own fishing show on the outdoor channel in 20 years. ;D

Jake's a great kid Mike.....he's definately got the sickness  ;D ....how long did it take him to fall asleep after running all day on the ice for flags? I'm sure it wasnt long, lol

Had a great time fishing with you guys on the last time out, nice to meet you Adkroy, I'm sure well get together again thru the summer sometime.

Thanks again for the venison Robb, it was awesome as usual.....this season I'm putting the time in and getting a deer!!

Yeah it was an awesome day!! Great to get out one last time ;D, but I'm definately done.......... It was finally nice to meet Adkroy and put a face with the name. Mike M. your really lucky to have a great kid like Jake, you've done a great job with him!! He will be a lifelong fishing partner, and you better take up hunting again the way he liked the venison ;). I'm glad Ozzy and his dad made it out for one last trip too, can't wait till next year for some more adventures!! I'll post some pics tonight.
