Hey guys, new to the site. Planning to get out for first day tomorrow. Was thinking A1 but not sure how thick the ice is that way. Any help would be great. We have 4-5 in Holden, just not sure how the bigger more open places are doing with the wind and rain from the weekend.

I checked A1 this afternoon. There was 3-4 inches of pretty good quality ice about 20 feet off the ramp. There were two guys way out in the middle ice skating I think you should be good to go! Make sure to check when you get there though I'm not sure how much current there is around the spillway. Good luck and be careful! I would probably go tomorrow as well if I wasn't having oral surgery

I'll be out in the morning I the Worcester area Chauncey has been locked up since before the rain as well . Probably similar to A1... welcome to the site! Be safe

Thanks for the updates and welcome! Has anyone heard of any muskie coming out of A1 or chauncy since they stocked last year?

I never caught one during open water and no one I talked to did either at A1. The size they stock them at they will probably be better size in a few years.

Welcome aboard. The Muskie they put in are still going to be fairly small. Couple years for them to start putting any size on.

Hey Everyone,

Speaking of new to the site, I'm also a newbie here. Fist time caller, long time listener. Nice to meet you all. I've been ice fishing for about 3 years in the Groveland/Haverhill area out east and looking forward to an early season this year. Friend of mine caught and released a 36" muskie @ Chauncey about 7 or 8 years ago from a boat. We've been back several times a year but haven't seen one since.
