I was just thinking the same thing.  Impatience, snow and Holter is not a good combination.
YOU are the only one who can decide if the ice is safe enough for you.

Yeah but you gotta get out there early and pound on the jumbos at Log Gulch before the schools get picked over and disperse. ;D

400 people will show up tomorrow to fish the same 100 yard square piece of ice, ought to be entertaining watching them all try to swim back to shore.
Dont ask

I love Holter, but with the Perch bite on the far end last year there were so many people it wasn't as fun.  I think I will be working the lakes in northern Montana a bit more this winter.

Walleye guy please give a report on the ice condition when you get back. I was thinking about trying it sunday but its a long drive if the ice is no good. Good luck

Here's to hoping those perch grew two inches and put on a quarter of a pound. That would be epic. :tipup:g

Has anyone fished log gulch since the weekend? Wondering how much, if any ice has built up with the wind and warmer temps.

Thanks!
