Does the 15 day forecast look good for making some ice? Not super cold but no days above freezing and it doesn't look like too much snow. Hopefully no wind!

Edit: ok maybe a few days above freezing

Forecast looks great especially next Wednesday Thursday and Friday. Some small lakes here in wny may have 3-4" by next weekend.

Looks like a normal start to a winter. It'll get cold and there should be some ice.

Looks good , im optimistic about being on ice next weekend.. Big plus there hasnt ween much wind..

I don't know about next weekend. Might want to pull your duck boat instead of your shanty.

been mighty cold in the tree stand............

63 years experance says will get cold get a taste on small ponds then it will warm up and everyone will say fowl words

For all the fishing I've done there, I've never caught a largemouth through the ice. I've ice fished that water from the western narrows to the launch.

Well after 60 years I figured out one thing and that winter comes every year , I will be on the ice at some point
With spud in hand
I got a message from FFP yesterday that someone needed to go out on the ice and you guessed it had to be rescued, accidents can happen, without any help ,

Believe it was packerbacker that showed me a vex for the first time. Even caught a largemouth right off the launch too! There are some nice ones in there.

The long range shows a deep cold front and below freezing and nights into the single digits around here....

Lets hope it arrives and stays and we all can enjoy a long and SAFE hard water season.....

Wind in the next couple of days will slow down the process for us up on the St. Lawrence. If it calms down later in the week with sub-zero temps at night we should be able to fish LOTI or Eel Bay.

Longer-term - the first week of Jan will tell the story. If blocking high doesn't hold over north Atlantic it could be a warmer than expected winter. If it builds and digs in, we could get something closer to normal.

Still too many variables to make a call on the forecast.

I drive by almost everyday lol only made it out twice last season. Fish were finicky!
