Try having spikes go through the wash with the wife's sweaters! There mush have been a couple hundred that I had to pick out of her sweaters! 4 years later I still hear about that one!

I brought home a pail of smelts and had a live 18" eel in the pail I went to work and left them in the sink .Wife went to wash some dishes and the eel had climbed out of the pail and was behind the pail until she started doing dishes . She left the house and would not come home until I took out the eel!!!!

I have to say I am not big on maggots, as with most girls, I find them to be pretty disgusting, however I do pick up roadkill, and utilize the parts the best way I know how.  I have a gorgeous medicine bag I made out of a flying squirrel, I did the skinning myself, even got the face whiskers and all in tact.  Pulled quills out of a porcupine this past spring.  My daughter found a beaver skull in the woods near a bog but only brought me a tooth, I made her go back up to the bog and get me the skull, the teeth make great beads.  So now I have a beautiful talisman of the large front tooth of a beaver, some turquoise, and a flying squirrel foot.  The feet make nice earrings and pendants.

Anyone have any extra skins, feathers, or other random parts, bear claws, deer toes, coyote teeth etc, I am more than happy to take them off your hands, even happier to make you a nice piece of jewelry if you wish!  Sorry didn't mean to turn this into a plug for myself, but I find the topic and concept very interesting.

She hollered up to me while I was trying to post today's pics that there were maggots crawling all over the fridge and I needed to come clean them up. 3 of my spikes got out through a little hole in the container. There were only 3 out....
