Help... Muck boot repair
« on: Feb 15, 2015, 10:05 AM »
I guess that I might have rested my auger blade on the toe of my muck boot and it now has an inch long slice through the rubber.  Any ideas on what to use to repair it? Thanks.

Goop does a very good job of fixing and it is waterproof!

Just over a year old

That figures because they are warranted for 1 full year. I have 2 buddies that both had failures and Muck gave them new ones.

Nor are they steel. Not my decision, just saying what happened to them.

I personally would settle for Goop.

That the stuff you heat with a lighter, and when softens "goop" in on?  Comes in a stick?  Have used that before works good!

I've used 100% silicone with success.  My patches were at the seam up the back and a thorn cut in the side.

I've used shoe goo in the past to repair the aging seals around the soles of my mucks. Only trouble is that in in the really cold weather it starts to get brittle and peel off, so re-patching becomes a regular chore. Can't complain though, they lasted me several years.

I used Aquaseal which is used to fix waders and it worked perfectly.

Another vote for Aquaseal. I had some cracks in my rubber hunting boots where my foot flexed from walking. I bought a new pair but hated to toss the old ones. Tried a tire patch, fell off. Aquaseal patch has lasted 2 seasons already and surprised me!!
