FORT PECK QUESTIONS FROM CANADA
« on: Jan 30, 2016, 09:07 PM »
The wife and I love Montana, most of the time we go to Kalkispell and Whitefish area. This next summer or next we are considering a trip to Fort Peck.I have a few questions:

1-which campground is the nicest and closest to some exc. walleye/pike fishing
2-which month is the best fishing during the summer
3-what are the limits on fish
4-are there any dangerous rock piles etc to what for on the water

thanks in advance

Hell creek is a state park , good camping , clean , usually quiet, great fishing a marina with nessecities. Other camps more remote, bad roads "gumbo", still good fishing. Get your rule book with your license.

Depending on when you go, beware of the no-seeums and mosquitoes.  They are horrendous problems.

Best Camp grounds are near the Dam end of the Lake, COE camp ground, best month is probably June limit is 5 walleye per day per person and a possession limit of 10 fish per person,  biggest concern on shallow water is some of the longer points that stick out into the lake.
